A Personal Mission

Shatterproof holds a special place in Carl’s heart. Following the tragic loss of his brother to an overdose, Carl aligned with this Connecticut-based addiction nonprofit as a resource for families seeking support. His public struggle with this personal tragedy was highlighted in Season 5 of “Summer House,” where a title card directed viewers to Shatterproof. Carl’s involvement didn’t stop there. He was the Team Captain representing Shatterproof on “Celebrity Family Feud.” Though they didn’t win the top prize, they proudly secured $5,000 for the charity. Carl’s appearance on the show, which featured humorous and memorable moments, can be seen in clips like this one.

Big Vision

Carl recently supported Big Vision during their 3×3 Basketball Tournament. This New York City-based nonprofit appeals to Carl because of its focus on activities and sober events. With a clubhouse in the city, Big Vision provides a safe, sober space for youth to socialize and engage in positive activities. Carl’s participation in the tournament underscores his belief in the power of community and active engagement in sobriety.

Heal Our Heroes/Headstrong

Supporting Veterans

Carl is also a proud supporter of Heal Our Heroes/Headstrong. This initiative resonates with him due to his family’s military background. His grandfather, a Marine in the Korean War, and his uncle, an Army officer in Vietnam, both endured significant post-conflict challenges. Witnessing their silent struggles fueled Carl’s desire to support organizations that address the mental health needs and stigma often faced by veterans.
